Francis X. Giasi
October 22, 1933 — April 6, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Francis X. Giasi, who departed this world on April 6, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on October 22, 1933, in the vibrant city of New York, New York, Frank was the cherished son of Emanuel Giasi and Pauline Scaltro Giasi. He passed peacefully at Addeo Hospice Residence, surrounded by the unending love of his family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, integrity, and devotion.
Frank's life was a tapestry woven with threads of love, dedication, and resilience. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Diane, whose memory he cherished deeply since her passing in 2002. Together, they built a family that was the cornerstone of his existence. Frank is survived by his devoted children: sons Frank, John, and Dean Giasi, and daughter Karla Giasi. He was the proud grandfather to six grandchildren—Brianna, Daniel, Christopher, Kailey, Nicholas, and Alessia—and a joyful great-grandfather to Octavia and Franco.
A graduate of Fort Hamilton High School, Frank furthered his education at Brooklyn College, where he not only pursued academic excellence but also displayed his athletic prowess on the football field. His commitment to service was evident in his military career; Frank proudly served his country in the US Army from 1956 to 1958, attaining the rank of PFC Army Ranger and being stationed in Ft. Lawton, Washington, and Ft. Dix, New Jersey.
Frank's professional journey was marked by his leadership and innovation in the private sector of waste paper management. As the President of the New Jersey Waste Paper Association, he was respected as a smart businessman who believed in hard work and the simple pleasures of life. Frank was a true gentleman, simple and kind, known for his high values and gratitude for every day he lived. His ethos—head held high, shoulders back, and straight—was a testament to his character.
Beyond his professional life, Frank found joy and solace on the water. An avid water skier and boating enthusiast, he relished the freedom and tranquility of being out on the water. These moments were a reflection of his zest for life and appreciation of nature's beauty.
Frank's family was his greatest treasure. A true family man, he lived for their happiness and was known for his generosity, often giving his children and grandchildren anything they desired. His unwavering love and support were the foundation of his family’s strength and unity.
A celebration of Frank's life will be held on April 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Holy Child Church, located at 4747 Amboy Road, Staten Island, NY 10312. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Tunnel 2 Towers, an organization close to Frank's heart, at https://t2t.org/.
Though we mourn the loss of Frank, we take solace in knowing that his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he touched. His legacy of love, integrity, and simplicity will continue to inspire us all. Rest in peace, dear Frank, knowing you were deeply loved and will be forever missed.
