In Loving Memory

Francis "Frank" Schoovaerts
November 10, 1954 — April 5, 2026
The world lost a gentle soul on April 5, 2026, when Francis "Frank" Schoovaerts passed away peacefully at his home. Born on November 10, 1954, in the vibrant city of Brussels, Belgium, Frank's life was a tapestry woven with kindness, love, and a deep connection to those around him.
Frank was the beloved son of Clementine and Henri Schoovaerts, and his early years were filled with laughter and warmth, shared with his family in the heart of Brussels. Though he endured the loss of his father, mother, and brother Jean-Jacque, the values instilled in him by his family remained a guiding light throughout his life.
A graduate of high school in Brussels, Frank pursued his passion for culinary arts by earning an online gourmet catering certification. This passion translated into a long and fulfilling career at Stormont Vail, where he dedicated 43 years of service. Frank retired as a Dietary Supervisor, a role in which his meticulous care and gentle nature shone brightly, earning him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the community he so faithfully served.
In 2016, Frank found his greatest joy when he married his beloved husband, Chuck Annis, on June 4. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Frank's heart was always open to his family and friends, and he cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was a simple gathering or an exploration of his favorite place, Puerto Vallarta.
Frank's legacy is one of a kind and gentle soul, whose warmth was not only felt by those who knew him but also by the animals that were instinctively drawn to him. His compassion and understanding extended beyond words, touching the lives of everyone he met.
He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory forever: his devoted husband, Chuck Annis; his sisters, Jackie Schoovaerts McGregor, Nicole Vanhollebeke, Evelyne Rose Baker, and Claudine Schoovaerts; and his brothers, Marc Schoovaerts and Louis Alain Schoovaerts. Though he has departed from this world, the love he shared and the kindness he embodied continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
In honoring Frank’s wishes, a private celebration of his life will be held among family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to local animal shelters, a cause that was close to Frank’s heart.
As we bid farewell to Frank, we remember a life beautifully lived, guided by a spirit of gentleness and love. His memory will forever be a source of inspiration and warmth, comforting those who were blessed to be part of his journey.
