Francis Arthur Joseph Crist

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Francis Arthur Joseph Crist, who departed this life on August 24, 2026. Born on June 26, 1957, in Herkimer, NY, Francis was the beloved son of the late Francis Crist Sr. and Patricia Peters. He was a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, whose humor and kindness touched everyone around him. Francis was predeceased by his dear wife, Robin Mott, and his siblings, Lynn Webster and Tracy Crist. He leaves behind a loving family, including his children Jordon and his wife Kaitlyn, Melinda and her husband Joe, and his treasured grandchildren, Harrison, Lyla, and Cecelia. Francis's family meant the world to him, and he was immensely proud of each of them. A dedicated and hard-working man, Francis spent many years working with Harvester before dedicating four decades of his career to Hanson and Barretts Stone quarries. His expertise in welding and operating heavy equipment was highly respected and valued. Beyond his professional achievements, Francis will be remembered for his love of Harley Davidson motorcycles, gardening, and canning. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life and shared that joy with those around him. Francis was known for his sharp wit and playful sense of humor. He had a special talent for bringing laughter to any situation and was always ready to lend a hand to a friend or family member in need. His generous spirit and unwavering support were hallmarks of his character, and he spent countless hours working on motorcycles with his best buddy, creating memories that will be cherished forever. In honor of Francis's life, donations may be made to the Abraham House in Utica, NY, an organization whose compassionate care provided comfort during his final days. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Bassett Medical Center and the caregivers at the Abraham House of Rome for their exceptional and loving care.
