December 5, 1941 — March 25, 2026

Frances M. Hilley, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 25, 2026. Born on December 5, 1941, in Akron, Ohio, Frances was the cherished daughter of the late James and Catherine Lupori. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Marvin Hilley Jr., granddaughter Summer Goudy, and brothers James Lupori and Robert Lupori. Frances was a 1959 graduate of Garfield High School in Akron, where she first exhibited the warmth and kindness that would define her life. Her natural sense of humor and infectious smile could light up any room, bringing joy to all those around her. For over four decades, Frances was a cornerstone of the family business, Bass Boss Bait. Her commitment and diverse roles within the company were a testament to her work ethic and dedication to her family's legacy. Frances shared more than 60 beautiful years with her devoted husband, Marvin Hilley. Together, they built a loving family and created many beautiful memories. She is survived by her daughters, Michelle Lepsesty (Mike), Jennifer Riggs (Chuck Rusinek), and Karla Goudy (Michael). Her grandchildren, Jacob (Alysia) and Joshua Goudy, Thomas and Hannah Riggs, and Michael Lepsesty. Her great-grandchildren, Connor, Caleb, and Cole Goudy. She is also survived by her sister Mary Weisgarber, and many extended family and friends including her best friend of almost 80 years Judy Zaveson. Frances was a devoted mother, always making birthdays and holidays special for her children. Her daughters had some of the best slumber parties that never had a limit of friends or "noise". Christmas was one of her favorite holidays and a special time for her family. She loved a big, beautiful Christmas tree with lots of presents underneath and was famous to her family and friends for her fruitcake and kiffles. She was a wonderful cook and also made a delicious potato salad that could never be matched. When her children were young, she played an active role in their lives serving as room mother, PTA member, Council Sachem of Indian Maidens, or any role that needed filled. She was always willing to help with any activity or school function. She continued to spread her motherly love to her grandchildren, and great grandchildren, who will miss her dearly. She looked forward to her summer trips to Put in Bay with her grandchildren and any other adventure they could find. She was always up for a good board game, card game or a competitive game of Jacks. Funeral service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday March 31st at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home (547 Canton Road, Akron, OH 44312) with an hour of visitation preceding. Interment immediately following at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery (2580 Romig Road, Akron, OH 44320). The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to special caregivers Chris, Amber, Quinn (the little girl), Hailey, Becky, and Brenda the music therapist, for always giving that extra compassionate and loving care. In remembering Frances, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and an unyielding dedication to family. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she touched, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
