Frances Downs

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frances Downs, who left this world peacefully on June 17, 2026, in Houston, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 24, 1941, in Saint Louis, Missouri, Frances lived a life full of warmth, generosity, and love. Frances was a devoted mother to her three children, Darryl, Rodger, and Carl, who brought immense joy to her life. She cherished her role as a grandmother to three grandchildren and was blessed with four great-grandchildren, all of whom were the light of her life. She was predeceased by her beloved parents and her dear grandson, Carl Williams, who now welcome her home with open arms. A woman of many talents, Frances had a passion for traveling and a love for hairstyling. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished forever. Her home was a haven for many, as she had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcomed and seen. Known for her generous spirit, Frances had a heart that touched everyone she met, and her radiant smile could light up any room. Frances' family invites all who knew and loved her to celebrate her life at a memorial service on August 29, 2026, at 11:15 AM. The service will take place at Koeneman Park, located at 8937 Lucas and Hunt Drive, where we will gather to remember and honor her extraordinary life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Frances' memory to the Alzheimer's Research Association, a cause close to her heart. The family of Frances Downs wishes to extend their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of support, prayers, and kindness during this difficult time.
