September 30, 1974 — May 13, 2026

It is with profound sadness and heartfelt gratitude for a life beautifully lived that we announce the passing of Frances Boykin, who departed this world on May 13, 2026, lovingly surrounded by her family. Born on September 30, 1974, in Dallas, Texas, Frances graced this world with her vibrant spirit and left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Frances was the beloved daughter of Mary Vanegas, whose nurturing and strength she admired deeply. She was predeceased by her cherished grandmother, Mary Lee Garcia, whose love and wisdom she carried forward in her own life. Her legacy continues through her children, Hector Castillo III, Jacquelynn Castillo, and Erica Castillo, who were the pride and joy of her life. Frances also leaves behind her precious grandchildren, Sebastian and Ariel, who brought boundless joy to her days. A devoted sister to Linda Galaviz, Gilbert Brito, Jessika Lara, and Vanessa Vanegas, Frances cherished her family deeply and was the thread that held them together with love and laughter. Her siblings remember her as a beacon of warmth and support, always ready with a kind word or a helping hand. Frances was a proud graduate of Irving High, class of 1994. Her passion for life was reflected in her love for music, ranging from the soulful notes of soft rock to the heartfelt rhythms of country and Tejano. Her outgoing personality and love for the outdoors were infectious; if the weather permitted, she delighted in thrifting or visiting Traders Village, where she found hidden treasures and shared joyous moments. A celebration of Frances's life will be held on May 21, 2026, at 3:30 PM at Golde. As we gather to remember her, we reflect on the light she brought into our lives and the enduring legacy of love she leaves behind. On behalf of our entire family, we would like to express heartfelt gratitude for your love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Your kindness, presence, and comforting words have meant so much to us. Whether you sent a message, brought food, offered a helping hand, or simply shared in our sorrow, please know that we deeply appreciate you. Frances Boykin was a woman of immense love and laughter, whose spirit will forever inspire us. She taught us to cherish the small joys, embrace the beauty of life, and hold dear the ones we love. As we say goodbye, we celebrate a life lived with grace, kindness, and unwavering love. Rest in peace, dear Frances. You will be missed beyond measure, but your spirit lives on in every heart you touched.
