Forrest Arthur Gragg, fondly known as Art, peacefully passed away at the age of 89 in the comfort of his home in Chickasha, OK. Born on July 30, 1937, in El Reno, OK, Art was the cherished son of Forrest Alva and Marie Gragg, who preceded him in death alongside stepdaughter Wendy Hatcher. Art's life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and a deep love for family. He was a proud graduate of Calumet High School, where he began to form the strong character and work ethic that would define his life. His career began at Rock Island Railroad, where he cultivated a lifelong passion for the railroads, working with several companies throughout his career. Art was known for his straightforwardness and integrity, qualities that earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew him. Family was the cornerstone of Art's life. He leaves behind his wife, Jeanette Gragg. Art had two daughters, Teri Gragg of Yukon, OK, and Kelle Gragg of Denton, TX, who loved him dearly. Art is survived by family Janice and Frank Hurst and their family in Banner, OK, and to Paul Gragg and his family in Oklahoma City. Art's spirit lives on in his grandchildren, Randall Hatcher and Zachary Hatcher, and their families, who brought immense joy to his life. His love for them was boundless, and he relished every moment spent creating lasting memories. An avid bass fisherman and gun enthusiast, Art found solace and joy in the great outdoors. These hobbies were not just pastimes but passions that allowed him to connect with nature. Art's forthright nature and unwavering love for his family will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of honesty, strength, and devotion that will continue to inspire his family and friends. A graveside service in celebration of Art's life will be held on September 16, 2026, at 1:30 PM at El Reno Cemetery in El Reno, OK. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor Art.
