Forest Ockletree Jr.

October 14, 1956 — September 14, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Forest Ockletree Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend. Born in Austin, Texas, on October 14, 1956, Forest's journey through life was tragically cut short on September 14, 2026, in a car accident. He leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and resilience that will be cherished by all who knew him. Forest was the devoted son of Forest Ockletree and Lois Smith. He grew up in a household filled with love and respect, which he carried into all aspects of his life. After graduating high school, he answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corps. From June 17, 1975, to June 6, 1979, Forest served with honor and distinction, achieving the rank of Corporal before being honorably discharged. His time in the Marines instilled in him a sense of discipline and duty that he carried throughout his life. In 1993, Forest met the love of his life, Coleen, and they built a beautiful life together, marrying on June 2, 2010. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Suranee, Forest, and Roshan, who were the lights of his life. His family was his pride and joy, and he took immense pleasure in the successes and happiness of his children and five grandchildren: Imani, Forest the 4th, Roshan Jr., Rei, and Ivy. Forest dedicated 30 years of his professional life as a Data Analyst at Continental Data Graphics, now known as Boeing. His colleagues remember him as a man of great intellect and generosity, always willing to share his experience and knowledge. His contributions to the field were significant, and his impact on his coworkers and the industry will be remembered for years to come. Forest's memory will be honored at a service on October 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Greenwood Memorial Park, located at 4300 Imperial Ave, San Diego, CA 92113. Family, friends, and all those whose lives Forest touched are invited to celebrate his remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Forest's name to a charitable organization of your choice. This gesture will honor his spirit of kindness and giving. Though Forest is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved him. His warmth, kindness, and strength of character have left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
