Floyd 'Mark' Ashley
October 1, 1951 — January 8, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of Floyd 'Mark' Ashley, who quietly departed this world on January 8, 2026. Born on October 1, 1951, in the quaint town of Lind, Washington, Mark lived a life full of love, laughter, and curiosity that touched the lives of many.
Mark was the beloved son of Floyd "Bud" Ashley and Nadine Lalonde, who predeceased him. He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Ashley, his cherished children, Chandra Ashley and Justin Ashley, his older brother Terry Ashley, and younger sister Jill Plager. The bond he shared with his family was unbreakable, and he carried his love for them in every step he took.
A proud graduate of Lind High School, Mark furthered his education later in life by obtaining an accounting degree from Spokane Falls Community College. With a keen mind for numbers and a heart full of ambition, he worked tirelessly for years before establishing his own successful business, All Snack Vending, which he ran with dedication for over a decade.
Mark's life was enriched by his passion for classic cars, particularly Ford Mustangs. His eyes would light up at the mention of his prized collection, which included a '65 Mustang, a '66 Mustang with the 289, and his all-time favorite, the 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback with the 490 engine. These cars were more than just vehicles to him; they were a testament to his hard work and the fulfillment of a childhood dream. His first car, a 1969 AMC Javelin in a striking purple, held a special place in his heart, especially the memory of his father, Floyd, experiencing its power for the first time.
Another of Mark's lifelong fascinations was the mysterious world of UFOs. Captivated from a young age by a vivid encounter with colorful, fast-moving lights in the night sky, Mark dedicated much of his time to researching and uncovering the mysteries he believed lay beyond our world. His zest for knowledge and the unknown was a testament to his inherently inquisitive nature.
Mark was a man defined by his warmth and humor. His smile was infectious, and his ability to lighten any mood with a well-timed joke made him a joy to be around. Generous with his time and spirit, he was always ready to lend a helping hand or share his vast knowledge with those around him. Mark's presence was a comforting embrace to his family and friends, and his absence will be deeply felt.
In the words of those who loved him most, "Goodbyes are not forever, Goodbyes are not the end, they just simply mean I'll miss you until we meet again."
Mark, you were more than a husband, father, brother, and friend; you were a beacon of joy and curiosity. Your legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know you. Rest peacefully, dear Mark, until we meet again. We love you, Dad.
