It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Floyd Jay Bias, a beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, on March 31, 2026. Born on July 3, 1964, in San Angelo, Texas, Floyd was a cherished member of our community whose warmth and humor left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Floyd passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of his family.
Floyd was the son of Floyd Ray Bias and the late Patsy Moore. He was also predeceased by his sister, Angela Boone. His gentle spirit and infectious laughter will be dearly missed by his surviving family members: his devoted daughter, Linzy Wurster; his loving son, Colby Bias; his treasured grandson, Jackwhyatt Thompson; his father, Floyd Ray Bias; and his sister, Lisa Edwards. Floyd’s legacy of love and laughter continues through his numerous nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
A proud alumnus of Lakeview High School in San Angelo, Floyd dedicated over 20 years of his life to serving the city of San Angelo. His commitment to his work was matched only by his dedication to his family and his zest for life.
Floyd’s joy for living was evident in his passion for the great outdoors. He found solace and camaraderie in hunting and fishing, often accompanied by family and friends. Floyd was a master of the grill, known for his legendary BBQs where laughter and the smell of perfectly cooked meals filled the air. He had a knack for bringing people together, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Known for his playful nature, Floyd was perpetually joking around and playing pranks, bringing smiles and laughter to everyone he encountered. His lighthearted approach to life was a reminder that joy can be found in the simplest of moments. Despite his penchant for mischief, Floyd had a heart full of kindness and generosity, never hesitating to lend a helping hand to those in need.
A celebration of Floyd’s life will be held on April 9, 2026, at 1:41 PM at Fairmount, located at 1120 West Avenue N, San Angelo, TX 76901. Family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched are invited to come together to honor Floyd’s memory and share stories of the love and laughter he brought into the world.
Floyd Jay Bias leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the extraordinary life he lived and the countless lives he enriched with his presence. Though he has left this earthly realm, Floyd’s spirit will continue to guide and inspire us, reminding us to find joy in every day and to cherish the moments we share with those we love.
