Floyd Eugene Keplinger, a beloved pillar of his community, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown, WV, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. He was 92 years old. Born on January 14, 1934, in Petersburg, WV, Floyd was the cherished son of the late Clyde and Mary Keplinger. A man whose roots ran deep in the soil of West Virginia, Floyd dedicated his life to both his family and his work. He spent many years as a hardworking coal miner, providing for those he loved and embodying the resilient spirit of the region. His dedication to his work was matched only by his devotion to his family and the land he cherished. Floyd married Edna Keplinger, and together they built a beautiful life over their 70 years of marriage. Though Edna preceded him in death, their love story remains a testament to enduring partnership and affection. Floyd was also predeceased by his brothers, Woods, Raymond, and Earl, and his sister, Martha. He is survived by his children, each of whom carry forward his legacy of kindness and integrity: Eugene Keplinger, Terry Keplinger, Cindy Rhodes and spouse, Troy, Tammy Livengood and spouse, David, all of Albright, WV; Judy Fear and spouse, Donnie, of Burcton Mills, WV; Brenda Sypolt and spouse, Scott; Connie Sypolt and spouse, Sonny; and Billie Louk and spouse, Harold, all of Kingwood, WV. Floyd’s life was further enriched by his ten grandchildren: Ronald Keplinger, Donald Fear, Edna Plum, Casey Feathers, Frankie Stout, Dawn Riley, Donald Riley, Autumn Keplinger, Mikey Louk, and Amanda Louk, as well as twenty great-grandchildren, each of whom brought joy to his days. Floyd’s passions extended beyond his career. He was an avid farmer, finding peace and purpose in tending to the land. His love for hunting and fishing provided him with countless stories and adventures, which he eagerly shared, often turning quiet moments into cherished memories. Above all, he treasured the time spent with his family, each gathering a testament to the bonds he nurtured throughout his life. A service to honor Floyd’s life will be held on June 11, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the Kingwood Funeral Home and Cremation, located at 295 S Price St, Kingwood, WV, 26537. Family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched are invited to join in celebrating the remarkable life of a man whose legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him. Floyd Eugene Keplinger leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and strength. His memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him. As we say goodbye, we find comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with his beloved Edna and family, watching over us with a gentle smile.
