It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Floyd A. McMillin, who left this world on September 6, 2026, in the comforting presence of his loving daughter and wife. Floyd was born on June 12, 1943, in Woodburn, Oregon, to Ernest McMillin and Helena Parsegian. He was a devoted family man, a skilled craftsman, and a proud veteran. Floyd was predeceased by his first wife, Carolyn McMillin, and his beloved son, David Floyd McMillin, as well as his parents. He leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience, survived by his cherished daughter, Diane J. Monahan, and grandson, Mathew Monahan. Floyd also leaves his devoted wife, Ellen McMillin, and stepchildren, Kristi Sakai Steiner and her brother, along with Michael Monahan, As well as his daugher in law who held a special place in his heart. A proud veteran, Floyd served in the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964, where he fondly recalled his time aboard the USS Gunston Hall. His patriotism was evident throughout his life, always proud to be a veteran and a servant to his country. Floyd was the owner of Floyd's Body Shop, a business he ran for nearly 30 years with immense pride and talent, earning him the affectionate nickname "Dr. Floyd." His craftsmanship in the automotive field was unmatched, and he had an extraordinary ability to transform cars into works of art. He always believed in doing one's best, a philosophy he lived by and imparted to others. Outside of work, Floyd had a passion for fishing and hunting, although he preferred capturing nature's beauty through the lens of a camera rather than with a rifle. An endearing story often shared was the time a deer licked his face while he napped in the woods, a moment that epitomized his gentle spirit and love for nature. Floyd's artistic talent extended beyond cars; he was a gifted painter, creating stunning depictions of deer and forests. His art was a reflection of his deep appreciation for the natural world, and it was a joy he shared with those around him. Floyd was a member of several organizations, including the Lebanon Odd Fellows, Lions Wapiti Bowman, and the American Legion in Lebanon, Oregon. His vibrant personality and infectious smile brought joy to everyone he met, and he was known for his ability to make others laugh and feel at ease. A graveside service to honor Floyd’s life will be held on June 12, 2027, at 11:00 AM at the Odd Fellows Cemetery located at 37295 Cemetery Rd, Lebanon, Oregon. A memorial wake will follow, and those wishing to attend are encouraged to contact his daughter, Diane Monahan, at P.O. Box 1057, Marcola, Oregon 97454. A church service isnt planned yet. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization close to Floyd’s heart, reflecting his enduring support for his fellow veterans. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Green Valley Rehabilitation Center, who provided compassionate care to Floyd during his time there. Your kindness and dedication were deeply appreciated by Floyd and his family. Floyd A. McMillin will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His legacy of love, laughter, and integrity will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in peace, reunited with those he loved.
