Florine Consuelo Baumann, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away on April 19, 1999, at the home of her daughter in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Born on August 3, 1922, in Shoshone, Idaho, Florine graced the world with her warmth and kindness for 76 beautiful years.
Florine was the cherished daughter of Carlos and Ramona Berriochoa. Her life was a tapestry of love and devotion, woven with the threads of family, faith, and community. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard L. Baumann, whom she married on June 24, 1946, and with whom she shared 44 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and enduring memories.
Her family was the center of her world. Florine was a devoted mother to her daughters Lorraine Martin (John), Patricia Smith (Brian), Ramona Revak (Peter), and Cornelia Lewis (Scott). Her nurturing spirit extended to her 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored unconditionally. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to blossom through them.
Florine was also predeceased by her son, Richard C. Baumann, her grandson Nicholas Smith, her two sisters Bene Haddock and Nieves Arnold, and her two brothers, Carlos Berriochoa Jr. and Joe Berriochoa. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.
A graduate of Shoshone High School, Florine furthered her education at the Links School of Business in Boise. She worked diligently as a secretary for Dr. Neher in Shoshone, Idaho, where her professionalism and dedication left a lasting impression until her retirement.
Florine was an active and cherished member of the Catholic Church, where her faith inspired those around her. She found joy and camaraderie in her bowling leagues and card clubs, where she played bridge and pinochle with enthusiasm and skill. Her trips to Jackpot and Fort Hall Casinos were filled with laughter and shared stories among family and friends.
Her hobbies reflected her creative spirit and gentle touch. Florine enjoyed bowling, knitting, crocheting, and playing card games, always sharing her creations and joy with those she loved. Her hands were often busy crafting beautiful pieces that were treasured by all who received them.
Florine was known for being a good listener, a rare and precious trait that made everyone around her feel welcome and valued. Her kindness and vibrant personality touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
As we remember Florine Consuelo Baumann, we celebrate a life well-lived, a heart deeply loved, and a spirit that will continue to inspire us all.
