Florence Mae Williams, born on December 3, 1947, in the charming town of Natchez, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026. The beloved daughter of Wills B. Williams and Ella Johnson Williams, Florence leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished family memories. Florence grew up in a household filled with warmth and laughter, and from an early age, she learned the values of compassion and dedication. She graduated with pride from South Girard High School in the class of 1965, and shortly thereafter began her remarkable career at Fieldcrest Mill. Over her 30-plus years there, Florence became known not only for her hard work and dedication but also for her ability to brighten the day of everyone she encountered. A devoted member of Pine Hill Baptist Church, Florence was a pillar in her community, always offering a helping hand and a kind word to those in need. Her faith and her family were the cornerstones of her life, and she understood the profound importance of spending quality time with loved ones. Florence cherished the simple pleasures of life. Whether attending a local softball game, cheering for her beloved Alabama football team, or watching the Atlanta Braves, she found joy in these moments of relaxation and camaraderie. But above all, her greatest joy came from being surrounded by her family. She is survived by her two devoted children, Kameron Williams and his spouse Alex Williams, and Tamika Williams Smith and her spouse Terrance Williams, who carry forward her legacy of love and resilience. Florence was also a proud grandmother to three grandchildren, Mikel Smith, Jeremiah Smith, and Nova Smith, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life. Known for her warm smile and soft heart, Florence had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome and loved. Her gentle spirit and unwavering kindness left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. A private funeral service will be held to honor Florence’s life, in accordance with her family's wishes. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Florence's own giving nature and her commitment to helping others. Florence Mae Williams will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Her legacy of love, kindness, and family will continue to inspire all who knew her.
