Felicia Lasha Eckwood

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Felicia Lasha Eckwood, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, who departed this life on September 5, 2026. Born on February 19, 1975, in Michigan City, Indiana, Felicia was the cherished daughter of William and Jaunita Macon, who preceded her in death, along with her brother Dexter Eckwood and stepbrother Eugene Macon. Felicia's life was a testament to her resilience, compassion, and dedication. She graduated from Michigan City Rogers High School, where her athletic prowess shone brightly on the volleyball and basketball teams. Her passion for sports led her to Indiana State University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in sports education. Felicia's career journey brought her to the Indiana Juvenile Center in LaPorte, Indiana, where she devoted 26 years of service. Her colleagues fondly remember her as a warm and supportive friend who left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. A woman of deep faith, Felicia gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a devoted member of the First Pentecostal Missionary Baptist Church before joining Advancing Christ Kingdom Ministries, where she worshipped with a congregation that shared her fervent belief in the triumph of good over evil. Felicia's kind and thoughtful nature was a beacon to all who knew her. Though she faced life's challenges with her unique blend of stubbornness and determination, her unwavering support was unfailingly present when others needed her most. Felicia leaves behind her beloved daughter, Nia Wilkins, who was her pride and joy. She is also survived by her sisters Carlotta (Alphonso) Cosby and Jackie (Johnny) Flowers; her brothers Roy Eckwood, Timothy (Tara) Eckwood, Titus (Crystal) Eckwood, and Troy (Shaylah) Macon, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish her memory. A celebration of Felicia's life will take place on September 26, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Advancing Christ Kingdom Ministries, located at 1428 East Michigan Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice, in honor of Felicia's generous spirit and her enduring commitment to helping others. Felicia's legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
