Henry Robert Collison

February 2, 1944 — March 20, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Father Falwell Collison, who departed this world on March 20, 2026, at the age of 82, after a long battle with infections. A cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Father’s life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and quiet strength. Born on February 2, 1944, in Philadelphia, Father was the beloved son of Henry Falwell Collison and Helen Elizabeth Rhodes. He was predeceased by his brother, David Burton Collison, with whom he shared a special bond. His legacy continues through his devoted wife of 56 years, Dolores Susan Collison (Stief), and their loving children, Christina Joy Collison (Thomas Gilligan) and Robert Henry Collison (Colleen Collison). Father was the proud and dedicated "Pop Pop" to his six grandchildren: Kieran, Leah, Kelsie, Dylan, Rian, and Bryn, who were the light of his life. Father was a man of remarkable intelligence and integrity. He graduated from Albany High School in 1962 and went on to earn an associate degree from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School in 1974. His path in life was marked by service and dedication. From 1964 to 1967, he served in the United States Army as an intelligence officer, stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. His commitment to serving his country was matched by his commitment to his career, where he worked as a banker, a private investigator, and later retired from the school district. A simple man with a quiet demeanor, Father was always up-to-date with the world around him, often quizzing his family on current events and history. He lived vicariously through the joys and accomplishments of his family, always content to stand back and watch them shine. His love for sports was legendary, a die-hard fan of the Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, and Penn State football. He found solace and joy in fishing, a hobby that allowed him to connect with nature and reflect on life’s simple pleasures. Father’s best friend, Carl Wetzel, was a steadfast companion throughout his life. The two shared countless memories and adventures, a testament to a friendship that spanned decades. Father’s life was a testament to the power of love, family, and quiet strength. He was a man who found joy in the success of others, who took it all in with a gentle smile, and who lived each day with grace and humility. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. A private service will be held to honor Father’s life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Father’s memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting his spirit of generosity and kindness. May Father Falwell Collison rest in eternal peace, his life a beacon of love and honor.
