Steven Proscia, a man whose life was a testament to dedication, love, and service, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on August 1, 1944, in New Rochelle, NY, he was the beloved son of the late Rocco and Sarah Proscia. Steven’s journey through life was marked by a commitment to his family, his community, and his own personal passions. Steven was united in marriage to his cherished wife, Rosemary Esposito, on September 5, 1964. Together, they built a life rich with love and happiness, sharing over 50 wonderful years before Rosemary's passing. Their union was blessed with two devoted children, Joseph Proscia and his wife Cheryl, and Susan Anderson and her husband Scott. Father was also a proud grandfather to three grandchildren, Bea, Andrew, and Nick, who brought immense joy to his later years. Steven dedicated two decades of his life to the service and safety of his community as a Lieutenant with the Paramus Police Department. His career was marked by integrity, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to justice, leaving a lasting impact on both his colleagues and the community he served. In his personal time, Steven found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, finding peace and adventure in nature’s embrace. His vegetable garden was his pride and joy, where he lovingly tended to his plants, sharing the fruits of his labor with friends and family. Steven is preceded in death by his beloved wife Rosemary, his parents Rocco and Sarah, and his brother Donald. He is survived by his children, Joseph and Susan, and his grandchildren, who will carry forward his legacy of love, strength, and resilience. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Care One and Ascend Hospice, whose kindness and care provided comfort during Steven’s final days. In accordance with his wishes, a private memrial will be held to honor Stevrn’s life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Dementia Society of America, an organization close to their hearts.
