Farrish Allan Howard
March 28, 1937 — March 1, 2026
Farrish Allan Howard, affectionately known as F.A. to family and friends, peacefully departed this world on March 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of his cherished family. Born on March 28, 1937, in the quaint and picturesque town of Salyersville, Kentucky, F.A. embodied the spirit of his upbringing, carrying with him a legacy of warmth, humility, and devotion throughout his life.
F.A. was the beloved son of the late George and Lou Anna Howard, who instilled in him the values of faith, family, and resilience. He was predeceased by his dear brothers, Beecher, Virgil, and Willie D. Howard, as well as his loving sisters, Ernestine Howard Arnett and Marie Howard Perkins. His daughter, Alicia Ann Grossman, also preceded him in death, and it is with hope and faith that we envision their joyous reunion.
A man of simple pleasures, F.A. found joy in the gentle rhythm of bicycling, the lively challenge of television game shows, and the art of storytelling. His tales of childhood adventures and family escapades in the hills of Kentucky were a testament to a life well-lived, full of laughter and cherished memories. His stories, told with a twinkle in his eye and an infectious smile, will be missed by all who had the privilege to listen.
F.A.'s faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was a devout follower of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior, and it is through this faith that his family finds comfort in these moments of sorrow. His unwavering belief and gentle spirit left an indelible mark on the hearts of many, serving as a guiding light in times of need.
Left to honor and cherish his memory are his devoted daughters, Marilyn Morange and her husband Richard of Bradenton, FL, and Terri Howard of North Carolina; his loving son, Robert Dean Holcomb of Goshen, IN. F.A. was a proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren and a doting great-grandfather to 23 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride.
In accordance with F.A.'s wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate his life and legacy. During this time, we invite you to reflect on the words of Jesus, as shared by the family: "And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in Paradise" (Luke 23:43).
As we bid farewell to a cherished father, grandfather, and friend, we hold close the memories and lessons imparted by F.A. His legacy of love, humor, and faith will forever remain in our hearts. Rest in peace, dear F.A., until we meet again in the heavenly paradise you so faithfully believed in.
