Fannie was born on June 30, 1965, in the warm embrace of Brent, Alabama, to the late Willie and Lizzie Abercrombie. Her life was a testament to love, laughter, and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Fannie spent her formative years in Brent, where she graduated from Bibb County High School, marking the beginning of a life dedicated to caring for others. Her career at Glenhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation was not just a job; it was a calling. Fannie's devotion and hard work were evident in her gentle touch and warm smile, which brought comfort and joy to countless souls under her care.
A pillar of strength and kindness, Fannie found solace and purpose as an active member of Unionship Baptist Church. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her. She possessed an extraordinary gift for making people feel good about themselves, infusing joy and laughter into every interaction. Her ability to speak her mind with humor and honesty made her a cherished confidante and friend to many.
Fannie's vibrant spirit was mirrored in her love for her family. She was predeceased by her brother, Glen Abercrombie, whom she cherished dearly. She is survived by her two devoted sons, Brandon (Shannon) of Brent and Lagarion of Tuscaloosa, who carry forward her legacy of love and integrity. Her five grandchildren were the light of her life, bringing her immeasurable joy and pride.
She also leaves behind her cherished sisters, Willie Mae Phillips of Brent, Debra Abercrombie of Tuscaloosa, and Pamela Burden Bostic of Tuscaloosa, along with her loving brothers, Jessie (Charlie) of Wichita, Kansas, and Issach (Ike) of Centerville. A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, who adored her, will forever remember her infectious laughter and generous heart.
Fannie's warmth extended beyond her family, creating a wide circle of friends who became like family over the years. Her ability to make people laugh and feel at home was unparalleled, and her comical nature brightened the lives of everyone she encountered.
The family invites all who knew Fannie to join them in celebrating her life on May 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Unionship Baptist Church. It will be a time to honor Fannie's memory, share stories of her kindness, and find comfort in the love she so freely gave.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of choice, reflecting Fannie's lifelong commitment to helping others. Her legacy of love and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
