With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Fanette Dennard, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Born on September 18, 1932, in Waycross, Georgia, Fanette gracefully departed this world on July 10, 2026, after a valiant battle with illness at Tift Regional Medical Center. She was 93 years old.
Fanette was the cherished daughter of the late Joe and Mary Alexander. She is predeceased by her parents and her beloved daughter, Carolyn King. Her legacy continues through the lives of her surviving children: Shonda Dennard, Delois (Darrell) Johnson, Ron (Yolanda) Dennard, Tracy (Maggie) Dennard, and Bernettia Green. She is also remembered by her sisters Minne Mae Tabor, Barbara Tabor, Ruby Dorsey, Linda Faye Smith, Saran Ann Dorsey, and brothers John Dorsey and Roger Tabor.
Fanette was a proud graduate of Berrien High School, where she laid the foundation for a life dedicated to family and community. She was married to Young Dennard for 52 wonderful years, a partnership filled with love and mutual respect. Together, they raised a family that became the center of her world. Fanette worked diligently for 35 years at Shaw Industrial, where she was known for her dedication and work ethic.
Fanette's love for cooking was well-known; her kitchen was a place of warmth and comfort, always filled with the delightful aromas of her culinary creations. She found immense joy in gathering her family for meals and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. Her family was her pride and joy, and she was blessed to be a grandmother to 11 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 26 great-grandchildren. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she delighted in their accomplishments and adventures.
Her gentle spirit, generous heart, and infectious smile will be deeply missed by all who knew her. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate a life well-lived, full of love and laughter.
A service to honor and celebrate Fanette's life will be held on July 25, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Bealluh Hill Church, located at 9 Tifton Elroado Road. Family and friends are invited to join in remembrance and reflection of a life that touched us all.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Fanette's memory to a charity of your choice. Her family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for the love and support during this difficult time.
Fanette Dennard will be remembered for her unwavering love, dedication to her family, and the warmth she brought into every room. Her legacy of kindness and compassion will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
