It is with heartfelt sorrow and profound respect that we announce the passing of Thomas who departed this life on June 5, 2026, just one day before his 76th birthday. Born on June 6, 1950, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, Tom was the cherished son of the late Dr. Thomas R. Uber and Amy Jean Young Uber. His life was a tapestry of dedication to family, career, and community, woven with the threads of compassion, integrity, and love. Growing up in New Castle, Tom attended public schools where he began to cultivate a keen intellect and a passion for learning. He further pursued his education at Westminster College, graduating in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. His academic journey continued at Dusquene University School of Law in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he graduated with honors, a testament to his perseverance and commitment to excellence. Toms' professional life was marked by distinguished service with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He joined the FBI as a Special Agent in the Organized Crime Unit, where he demonstrated his unwavering dedication to justice and integrity. His exemplary service earned him a promotion to Supervisor of the Unit, a role in which he continued to excel until his retirement in 2006. His colleagues remember him as a man of principle, whose leadership and dedication inspired those around him. Beyond his professional accomplishments Tom's personal life was enriched by the love of his family and his passions. He was a devoted stepfather to Jeffrey Danial Murray and his wife Nancy, Nicole Murray Hunecke and her husband Edward, and Kelly Murray Sullivan and her husband David. His legacy lives on in his beloved grandchildren: Ava and Jake Hunecke, Malinda and Michael Murray, Keatyn and Blake Sullivan, and Marc and Marial Gulla. Tom was predeceased by his beloved parents and his cherished sister, Gretchen Uber Stevens, whose memories he held dear. In his leisure time, he found joy in cheering for his favorite sports teams, the Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Steelers, and in the companionship of his beloved Bernese Mountain Dogs, who were a source of comfort and joy throughout his life. In accordance with his wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Tom's life.
