Everette Cornelius Huff August 31, 1953 – August 12, 2026 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Everette Cornelius Huff, who departed this world peacefully at his home in Washington, DC. Born on August 31, 1953, in Washington, DC, Everette was a cherished soul who touched the lives of all who knew him. Everette was the beloved son of the late Audley Huff and Alberta McDade. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Juanita Huff, Lavonnie Huff, and Keith Huff. Everette leaves behind a legacy of love through his son, Darrin Kimbrough, and his grandson, Kai'Zen Kimbrough, who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his siblings, Deborah (Garcia) Davis, Tyrone Huff, and Michael Huff, who will forever treasure their memories of him. Everette's journey began in the District of Columbia School system, where he received his early education. With a strong sense of duty and purpose, he enlisted in the United States Army as a young man, serving his country with distinction until his honorable discharge in 1972. His dedication to service continued during his time employed at Joint Base Andrews AFB until his medical retirement. A man of simple pleasures, Everette had a profound love for the outdoors and took joy in working in the yard, always adorned with his signature necklace. He was a numbers enthusiast, enjoying the thrill of playing the DC Lottery, where his knack for numbers sometimes led to a win. Everette was known for his quick wit and warm smile, always ready with a joke to brighten any room. He had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel special, and his kindness and generosity touched countless lives. Everette was also an active member of the ELK Lodge of Washington DC, where he found joy in socializing with fellow members and contributing to the community. A skilled craftsman, Everette had a talent for refurbishing equipment and furniture, sharing his handiwork with friends and family. His love for his family was evident in the weekly phone calls he made to check in and just to talk, ensuring that they always felt connected and loved. In honor of Everette's life and commitment to service, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization close to his heart. Everette Cornelius Huff will be remembered for his laughter, love, and unwavering generosity. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
