Evelyn Mary Reade, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully departed this world on September 22, 2026. Born on July 2, 1938, in Trenton, New Jersey, Evelyn was a woman of profound faith and unwavering devotion, a true testament to the power of love and grace. Evelyn's life was richly woven with threads of kindness and humility, grounded in her deep Catholic faith which guided her every step. Her life was a living prayer, and she found immense joy in the simple yet profound acts of service to others. Her quiet strength and steadfast trust in God were the cornerstones of her life, radiating warmth and light to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Church and community were central to Evelyn’s existence. She was a beacon of encouragement, always ready with a comforting word or a compassionate ear. Her life was a reflection of Christ's teachings, shining brightly in both grand gestures and small, everyday acts of love. Family was the heart of Evelyn's world. She cherished family gatherings, Sunday worship, and shared meals that filled the home with laughter and love. Her daily rosary was a sacred ritual, entwining her thoughts and prayers with those she held dear, including her beloved New York Yankees. To Evelyn, faith was not merely a belief but a life fully lived. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Wasko; her devoted husband, Robert James Reade, whom she married on September 6, 1958; and her beloved son, Robert Jeffery Reade. She leaves behind a family who adored her: her daughter Karen Zier and her husband Brian; her grandson Weston Zier, his wife Sheila; and her precious great-granddaughter Zoe Zier. Evelyn's love and legacy extend beyond her immediate family to the many friends and church members who were touched by her presence. A service to honor Evelyn’s life will be held on September 25, 2026, at 9:11 AM at Kingston and Kemp Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations to a charity of choice, reflecting Evelyn’s generous spirit and lifelong commitment to helping others. Evelyn Mary Reade's life was a beautiful testament to faith, family, and love. Her memory will continue to be a blessing and an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know her, as her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
