Evelyn Elizabeth Schultz, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on June 4, 2026, after a courageous battle with illness. She was born on August 25, 1958, in Eldorado, Kansas, to Billy and Patricia Snyder. Evelyn's life was a testament to love, resilience, and the unwavering commitment she had to her family and friends.
Evelyn spent her childhood in Eldorado, where she enjoyed the simple joys of life surrounded by her loving parents and siblings. She was predeceased by her parents, Billy and Patricia Snyder; brothers, William and Thomas Snyder; sisters, Teresa Covey and Sherry Snyder; and her cherished nephew, Larry Valdez. Despite these losses, Evelyn's spirit remained strong, and she carried forward the lessons of love and strength they imparted to her.
On December 9, 2000, Evelyn married the love of her life, Andrew Schultz, in Hawkins, Texas. Together, they shared over 25 years of unwavering love and companionship. Their marriage was a beautiful journey marked by shared dreams, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Andrew was the anchor in Evelyn's life, and together they built a home filled with warmth and joy.
Evelyn was a devoted mother to her children, Shane (Brandy) Snyder and Nathan Bennett, and a proud grandmother to her five grandchildren. Her family was the center of her universe, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her home was always open, a place of comfort where her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and close friends gathered to feel her unconditional love and generosity.
In addition to her family, Evelyn shared a special bond with her loving sister, Patty Mitchell, who stood by her side through all of life's triumphs and challenges. Their sisterly connection was a source of strength and comfort for Evelyn, a reminder of the importance of family ties.
Evelyn had a passion for the simple pleasures of life. She found joy in curling up with a good book, losing herself in the worlds created by her favorite authors. Her evenings were often spent in the company of her beloved dog, Shelby, who was her faithful companion through thick and thin. Evelyn also had a playful spirit, finding delight in the colorful world of Candy Crush, where she proudly conquered each level with a smile.
A private ceremony will be held to honor Evelyn's life, allowing her family and closest friends to gather in remembrance of the beautiful soul she was. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in Evelyn's memory.
Evelyn Elizabeth Schultz lived a life rich in love, laughter, and kindness. Her legacy will continue to live on through the hearts of those she touched. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace, embraced by the love of those who have gone before her.
