It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Evelyn Battle Feimster Kennion, who left this world peacefully on May 3, 2026, at the age of 87. Evelyn was born on July 1, 1938, in Kinston, North Carolina, to the late Benjamin Battle Sr. and Ellen George Battle. Her life was a testament to resilience, love, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved parents, her brother Benjamin Battle Jr., her sister Pearl Ellen Battle (Smith), and her cherished daughters, April Lorraine Feimster Murchison and Sandra Lee Andrea Feimster. Despite these profound losses, Evelyn's spirit remained unbroken, and she continued to be a beacon of strength and hope for those around her. Evelyn leaves behind a rich legacy that is carried forward by her devoted husband, Ronnie Kennion, who stood by her side for many beautiful years. She is also survived by her loving siblings: Betty Alexander of New York, Les Batis of Kentucky, and Carlton Battle of North Carolina. Her heart was filled with pride for her four wonderful daughters: Valerie Montgomery of North Carolina, Sharon Bovelle (Karl) of New York, and daughter/granddaughters Ebony Kennion and Ivory Holden of Aiken, South Carolina. Evelyn's family extended further through the bonds of love she shared with her three stepchildren: Gerald (Jerry) Kennion (Jackie) of Trenton, South Carolina, Reginald (Reggie) Kennion of Atlanta, Georgia, and Ronnie Dale (Jock) Kennion Jr. (Mattie) of Pink Hill, North Carolina. She was the treasured grandmother of six grandchildren, including Keith Murchison Jr., Lisa McKiver Bovelle, Alexander Caleb Montgomery, and Gregory Montgomery 2nd. Her joy multiplied with the arrival of her seven great-grandchildren: Trinity Bouder, Serenity Bouder, Antron Holden Jr., Michael Holden, Maximillian Caleb Montgomery, Ryan Achilles Montgomery, and Royce Gregory Montgomery. A service to honor and celebrate Evelyn's remarkable life will be held on May 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Friendship Baptist Church, located at 515 Richland Ave East, Aiken, SC 29801. Friends and family are invited to gather and share in the memories of a woman whose love knew no bounds and whose generosity touched countless lives. In this time of sorrow, the Kennion family extends their heartfelt gratitude to their many friends who have shown such kindness and support. Special thanks to Sister Loretta Bush and Flip Quiller for their unwavering presence and care during this difficult time.
