March 8, 1939 — March 18, 2026

Evelina "Eve" Hart, a beacon of love and resilience, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, at the age of 87, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on March 8, 1939, in the close-knit community of Greensburg, Indiana, Evelina was a cherished daughter who grew into a woman known for her warmth, empathy, and unwavering spirit. Eve dedicated her life to the service of others, working as a nurse at St. Vincent's Hospital for an impressive 22 years. Her gentle touch and compassionate care left an indelible mark on both her patients and colleagues. Many remember her as a comforting presence in their time of need, always ready with a kind word and a reassuring smile. In Buffalo, New York, Eve met the love of her life, Roy Hart. Together, they embarked on a journey of love and partnership that spanned 52 beautiful years until Roy's passing. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, characterized by mutual respect, laughter, and shared dreams. The couple's union was blessed with two sons, though heartbreakingly, Eve was predeceased by her beloved husband and one of her dear sons. Eve's family was the central joy of her life. She is survived by her devoted son, Charles Hart, and her cherished stepdaughters, Tanya Createing and Tawanna Denny. Her nurturing spirit extended to her 15 grandchildren, each of whom she adored and who brought her immense pride and delight. A woman of deep faith, Eve was an active member of the First Baptist Church, where she found not only spiritual solace but also a community that she held dear. Her involvement with the church was a reflection of her strong belief in the power of love and compassion to heal and unite. While the family plans to honor her life with a private ceremony, the impact of Eve’s life and love will continue to be felt by the many who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy is one of selfless service, unwavering love, and the gentle strength that inspired those around her to be their best selves. Evelina "Eve" Hart leaves behind a world made better by her presence, a family strengthened by her love, and a community enriched by her kindness. Though she will be profoundly missed, her spirit lives on in the hearts of all she touched.
