Evan Michael Smith, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on July 17, 2026, in the comforting presence of loved ones after a brief illness. Born on July 12, 1959, in the vibrant city of Seattle, Washington.
Evan was the cherished son of Cantrist Smith and Juanita (Bailey) Smith, both of whom predeceased him. He carried their legacy forward with grace and strength, embodying the values they instilled in him. Evan's life was enriched by the love and camaraderie of his siblings, Candace Rose Mitchell, Thomas Gregory Smith, and Charles Robert Barnes. His family tree extended with pride and joy to his nephews, Deion Charles Davis and Thomas Gregory Smith II, as well as several great-nieces and nephews who were a source of immense pride for him.
For over three decades, Evan dedicated his professional life to Franz Bakery, where he worked as a baker. Upon his retirement, Evan left behind not just a career but a legacy of excellence, friendship, and memories.
Evan's passion for life extended beyond his career. He found solace and joy in the natural world, often spending his free time fishing. These moments were where Evan shared stories and laughter by the water's edge. His love for these simple moments was a reflection of his view on life.

A service to honor and celebrate Evan's life will be held on July 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Friends and family are invited to gather at Cady Cremation Services and Funeral Home, located at 8418 S. 222nd St, Kent, WA 98031.
