In Loving Memory of Evalyn "Karleen" Tope Evalyn "Karleen" Tope, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2026. Born on August 9, 1937, in the charming countryside of Adams County, Karleen was the cherished daughter of Harry and Aileene Wikoff. She was predeceased by her devoted parents and her dear brother, Ed Wikoff. Karleen was a beacon of light whose warmth and kindness touched everyone around her. She left an indelible mark on the hearts of many, and her legacy of love will forever be cherished by her family and friends. She is survived by her devoted husband of 70 years, Eugene "Gene" Tope, whom she married in a loving ceremony in January 1956. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around faith, family, and community. A proud graduate of Hamilton Township High School, class of 1955, Karleen was a diligent and dedicated member of her community. She served the Liberty Union school district for many years, first as a cashier and later as a respected food service director. Her commitment to the well-being of young people extended beyond her professional life; she founded the Lion Cadettes, where she shared her passion for cheer and drill team skills with many enthusiastic young learners. Karleen was an avid gardener and a Master Gardener, finding joy and serenity in her flower beds and gardens. Her love for nature extended to her membership and presidency in the Basil Garden Club. Her talents were not confined to the garden; she was also an accomplished baker, known for winning numerous blue ribbons at the Fairfield County Fair. A devout Christian, Karleen's faith was a guiding force throughout her life. She was a dedicated member of the Millersport Covenant Church, where she found spiritual fulfillment and a sense of community. Her ability to make all feel welcome and valued was a testament to her generous spirit. Karleen's family was her greatest joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them. She is survived by her loving children: Chris (Sandy) Tope, Karla (Mark) Giesler, Trudie (Ken) Mckibben, and Kevin (Lori) Tope. Her sister, Sharon (Jim) Anderson, and her five grandchildren—Jennifer (David) Rotruck, Mike (Tara) Tope, Marc (Shanna) Mckibben, Rachel Mckibben, and Pamela (David) Stump—were a constant source of pride and happiness for her. Her legacy also lives on through her nine great-grandchildren and nineteen nieces and nephews.
