Eva Margaret Espinoza, a woman of love and laughter, peacefully departed this world on April 19, 2026, at the age of 63. Born in Phoenix, AZ on November 29, 1962, Eva graced the lives of all who knew her with her unwavering love. Her final moments were spent surrounded by her loving daughter, daughter-in-law, and cherished grandchildren, a fitting testament to a life centered on family and boundless affection.
Eva was the beloved daughter of Gloria Pompa Overton and Romauldo Espinoza, both of whom preceded her in death. She now joins them, along with her brother Mark Espinoza and several other close family members, in eternal peace. Her legacy of love and resilience is carried forward by her daughter Joanna Montoya and her daughter-in-law, Cynthia “Monie” Zamudio, who Eva adored. Her heart also found joy in the lives of her seven grandchildren—Kareyna, Jacob, Adriana, Anniyah, Aleks, Augustine, and Elias—and her great-grandchild, Amariana Duran, who brought her immense pride and happiness. She’s also survived by her brother Ray Espinoza (Julie) sisters Elizabeth Alatorre and Debra Overton
Eva’s life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and the joy of simple pleasures. She graduated from Glendale High School in 1980 and furthered her education at Northern Arizona University. Her career as a successful Escrow Officer was complemented by her years of service as a waitress at La Perla, where her infectious smile and vivacious personality endeared her to colleagues and patrons alike.
Beyond her professional life, Eva was a devoted member of the Old Lady’s Club, a group of family that carried on traditions of gatherings. Her passions were many, but her love for football stood out, with the Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals holding special places in her heart. Whether she was cooking a pot of green chile or traditional dressing around Thanksgiving supporting her grandchildren’s various events, or embarking on small adventures with her family, Eva’s life was a celebration of the people and activities she loved most.
Eva’s love for music encompassed all genres, but she was especially fond of Lionel Richie, and her home was often filled with the sound of his music. Her beautiful smile and witty personality left an indelible mark on everyone she met, cultivating friendships that spanned decades.
A service to honor Eva’s remarkable life will be held on May 14, 2026, Rosary will begin at 9:30 AM with a mass immediately following at 10:00 AM, at St. Helens Catholic Church, located at 5510 W Cholla St, Glendale, AZ 85304. Followed by a reception at 12:00 PM at The VFW located at 7618 N 63rd Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301. Her family invites all who knew her to join in celebrating a life well-lived and to share in the loving memories she leaves behind.
