Eva DeLeon, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in the loving company of her daughter Elizabeth Bennett and family members Marco and Betty DeLeon. Born on September 22, 1938, in Harlingen, Texas, Eva marked her 88th birthday the day she joined her heavenly family. Her remarkable life was filled with love, dedication, and service to others, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew her. The daughter of Francisco and Teresa Salinas, Eva was predeceased by her parents, her devoted husband Murilio DeLeon, and her cherished children Alejandro and Jose DeLeon. Her storied life began when she married Murilio in 1958, and together they raised seven children, creating a warm and nurturing home filled with laughter and love. Eva spent much of her career as a daycare teacher, a role that perfectly suited her nurturing spirit and passion for helping others. Her commitment to the children she taught was only matched by her devotion to her faith. A devout Christian, Eva was known for her unwavering kindness and her desire to serve those around her. Her love and compassion were evident in every interaction, touching countless lives throughout her journey. She is survived by a large and loving family, including her son Gustavo DeLeon; Maurillo Jr. and his wife Charlotte, along with their children Marco and family, Nathan and family, and Brandon and family; daughter Karen and her children Adam and family, Alex and family, Jessica and family, and Tony and family; Elizabeth and her husband Patrick Bennett; Javier, Max, and Cruz; Marco and his wife Betty, along with their children Christopher, Anthony and family, Alyssa, Daniel, and Hunter; and the children of Jose, Jera and family, Brent and family, and Paula. Eva's family invites all who were touched by her grace and generosity to celebrate her life at a service to be held on October 6, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Pius X, located at 3030 Gus Thomasson Rd, Dallas, TX 75228. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of Eva's lifelong dedication to helping others. Eva DeLeon will be remembered as a beacon of love and hope, whose spirit will continue to guide those she leaves behind. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends, a testament to a life well-lived and a heart well-loved.
