In Loving Memory of Eva Barlowe August 22, 1938 - March 15, 2026 Forest City, NC, has lost one of its most cherished souls. Eva Barlowe, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, departed this world on March 15, 2026, at the age of 87. Eva passed peacefully at home, surrounded by those she loved, and has now surrendered to God's eternal embrace. Her journey began in the same town she held dear, born to Ruth Bost on August 22, 1938. Eva's life was a testament to love, warmth, and an unwavering faith that guided her through life's journey. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Bost, her stepfather, Jack Bost, her cherished sister, Doris Bey, and her beloved daughter, Denise Barlowe. Yet, she leaves behind a legacy of love in her surviving children, Vicki Barlowe and Jeffrey Barlowe, and her adored grandson, Joshua Milligan, who will carry her memory forward. Eva's life was a tapestry woven with vibrant threads of affection and adventure. Her love for reading transported her to far-off lands, while her passion for travel and exploration turned the world into her playground. She was known for her beautiful smile and great giggle, which could light up any room, and her thick, wavy hair was the envy of many. Perhaps one of Eva's most endearing qualities was her ability to embrace everyone she met with warmth and nonjudgmental acceptance. Her strong, unwavering faith was a beacon to those around her, and her warm, strong hugs provided comfort to many. Eva's love for German shepherds reflected her nurturing spirit, and her ability to whip up the best cornbread in the world was a testament to the love she poured into everything she did. Eva's penchant for adventure was as infectious as her great laugh. Whether singing "Going on an adventure" in the car or preparing great lunchbox foods as a child, she infused every moment with joy and wonder. Her bashful moments only added to her charm, and she was loved by all who were fortunate enough to meet her. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Eva's remarkable life. In this time of sorrow, her family finds solace in the indelible memories she left behind and the assurance that they will one day be reunited through their shared faith. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this time. They offer a special message to those who knew Eva: "She was an amazing person who left an impact on anyone she met. The memories you gave us will never go away and they will help us through our sorrow. We miss you but, we know through our faith we will see you again. We love you. Rest in Peace because you did a REALLY good job being an awesome person while you were here!" Eva Barlowe's life was a beautiful symphony of love, faith, and adventure, and her spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched. As she embarks on her final journey, we take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, cradled in the arms of the Lord.
