Eunice Earline Alford March 6, 1941 – May 26, 2026 It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Eunice Earline Alford, who left us on May 26, 2026, at her cherished home in Gladewater, Texas. Eunice was a devoted mother, grandmother, and a dearly loved friend whose life was a testament to kindness, resilience, and unwavering love. Born on March 6, 1941, to Ed and Maybell Brookshire in the heart of Gladewater, Eunice grew up surrounded by the warmth of a loving family. Her parents, along with her sisters Janette Brown and Reba Cummings, nurtured a spirit of compassion and generosity that Eunice carried throughout her life. She graduated with honors from Winnsboro High School in 1959, marking the beginning of a journey defined by dedication and grace. In 1963, Eunice married the love of her life, Max Ray Alford, embarking on a beautiful marriage that spanned 53 years until Max's passing. Together, they crafted a life rich with love and laughter, raising two wonderful children, Samantha Alford and William Alford. Her children, their spouses Ron Young and Sandra Alford, and her cherished grandchild, Taylor Brook Alford, were the center of her world. Eunice's home was always filled with warmth, a testament to the love she cultivated in her family. Eunice's career was as varied as it was fulfilling. She began as a phone operator before dedicating herself to raising her children as a stay-at-home mom. Later, she contributed her skills to several medical offices and Baylor Scott and White, where she was known for her diligence and empathy. A woman of many talents, Eunice found joy in the art of crafting. Whether she was crocheting, sewing, embroidering, or cross-stitching, her creative spirit shone through every piece she made. She also enjoyed bowling, an activity that brought her much joy and camaraderie over the years. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, leading her to be an active member of Casa View Christian Church before becoming a cherished part of the community at Monica Park Christian Church. Eunice's steadfast faith and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her, leaving an indelible mark on her community. Eunice is preceded in death by her husband, Max Ray Alford, her parents, Ed and Maybell Brookshire, her sisters Janette Brown and Reba Cummings, and a niece and nephew. She leaves behind a legacy of love and is survived by her children, Samantha Alford and husband Ron Young, William Alford and wife Sandra Alford, her grandchild, Taylor Brook Alford, and countless friends who were touched by her kindness. Though Eunice's physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will be loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. A celebration of Eunice's life and legacy will be held at Monica Park Christian Church, with details to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of choice in Eunice's memory.
