Eugene Robert Johnston
March 15, 1939 — July 17, 2026
Eugene Robert Johnston passed away peacefully at his home on July 17, 2026, at the age of 87. Surrounded by the warmth of his family, Eugene left this world as he lived in it: with grace, dignity, and love.
Born on March 15, 1939, to Robert and Charlotte Johnston, Eugene grew up with a strong foundation of faith and family values. A graduate of high school and a proud veteran, he served our country in two branches of the military, demonstrating a commitment to service that would define his life. He carried the spirit of dedication into his civilian life, becoming a beacon of hope and laughter for all who had the privilege to know him.
Eugene was a faithful Christian man who delighted in sharing his faith and joy with anyone willing to listen. A man of selflessness, he was renowned for his quick wit and jokes, often bringing a smile to the faces of those around him. His love for Jesus was apparent in his daily actions and interactions, and he was truly a joy to know and call a friend.
For years, Eugene was married to "His Bride," Kathy Johnston, and their love story was one for the ages. Together, they raised a loving family, including their beloved daughter, Karen Bradford, who preceded him in death. Eugene's legacy lives on through his three cherished grandchildren, Kathy Harris, Larry Harris, and Lisa Winans(Roy), along with his 16 great-grandchildren, and many many great, great grands who affectionately knew him as Grandpa and Gramps. He loved every single blessing he was given as family and friends.
Eugene’s life will be celebrated at a service on July 24, 2026, at 2:00 PM. A heartfelt thank you to Kathy, whose unwavering dedication and love provided Eugene with comfort and joy during his final days. You went above and beyond to keep him happy and comfortable. “I love you Gal”
Eugene leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and faith. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will continue to inspire those he touched. To have known Eugene Robert Johnston was to truly have been blessed.
