October 28, 1942 — September 15, 2026

Eugene "Gene" Robertson, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026, after a courageous month-long battle. Born on October 28, 1942, in Lodi, California, to Russell and Patricia Robertson, Gene lived a life rich with love, laughter, and dedication to family and friends. Gene was predeceased by his beloved parents, Russell and Patricia, as well as his brothers, Russell (affectionately known as Butch) and Dennis (Denny). He is survived by his devoted siblings, Carol and Patrick Robertson, who will forever cherish their memories of him. Gene's legacy lives on through his dear children, Richard and Elizabeth Robertson, who remember him as a guiding light and a source of unwavering support. The light of Gene's life shone even brighter with the joy of his grandchildren, Frances Binns, Brittany Robertson, Christopher Pimentel, and Ashlyn Robertson Wilson, and his great-grandchildren, Landon Robertson, Jaxon Binns, Caden Pimentel, and Lily Wilson. Each of them carries forward his spirit, love, and laughter. In 1962, Gene embarked on a lifelong journey with his soulmate, Sara-Jane Greening. Their 51 years of marriage were filled with mutual respect, love, and countless adventures. Together, they built a life that was a testament to love's enduring power. Gene's early years saw him graduate from Courtland High School before he briefly served in the Air Force, displaying his dedication to his country. His career path led him to work with Bethlehem Steel and subsequently dedicate 35 years to Staten Island Ranch, where he was known for his strong work ethic and camaraderie. Outside of his professional life, Gene was a man of varied interests. He found immense joy in fishing, crabbing, and tending to his garden. His love for animals was well-known, as was his aversion to new technology, which he often met with a quick wit and a hearty laugh. Gene's scooter rides and travel adventures were legendary among friends and family, a testament to his zest for life. Gene's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful nurses, doctors, and rehabilitation staff who provided him with care and compassion during his final days. Their kindness and dedication were a source of comfort to both Gene and his family. In honor of Gene's memory, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of one's choice, reflecting Gene's generous spirit and his lifelong commitment to helping others. As we bid farewell to Gene, we remember a kind soul whose light shone brightly, a man whose presence brought joy to all who knew him. His legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.
