Eugene Harrison

Eugene Harrison, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Desoto, Missouri, on September 11, 2026, after bravely battling an illness. Born on March 2, 1945, Eugene was the cherished son of Mary and Tom Harrison. Eugene's life was a testament to love, dedication, and service. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Harrison, and his brother, Thomas Harrison. He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Evon Harrison, who was not only his partner in life but also his confidante and best friend. Together, they shared a wonderful 30-year marriage, filled with precious memories and an unwavering bond that inspired all who knew them. Eugene was a proud graduate of Desoto High School. He served his country with honor in the Navy before committing two decades as a police officer, dedicating himself to the safety and well-being of his community. Following his law enforcement career, Eugene found joy and freedom on the open road as a truck driver for 40 years. An active church member, Eugene lived a life of faith and community service. His hobbies included woodworking and building furniture with his grandchildren, as well as hunting and fishing, activities that brought him immense joy and relaxation. He was a man of strong character and a caring heart, always making those around him feel valued and loved. Eugene was known for his wisdom, humor, and unwavering dedication to his family, which included his brother Greg Harrison, his daughters Donna litel and Laurie Johnson,and his treasured grandsons Brett Rayford and Trenton Lane. Eugene's legacy of love is also carried on by his one great-grandchild. Eugene’s life will be celebrated in a service on September 21, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Mahn Funeral Homes, located at 900 N Main St, De Soto, MO 63020. His family invites those who knew and loved him to join in remembering the remarkable life he led. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization close to Eugene's heart, located in Jacksonville, Florida. Eugene Harrison will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His strength, kindness, and love will forever be remembered.
