In loving memory of Eugene Baker Williams, who passed away peacefully on October 10, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer and Alzheimer's disease. Born on September 14, 1938, in Waycross, Georgia, Eugene was a beacon of strength and compassion, whose life was marked by the unwavering love he shared with his family and friends. Eugene was the cherished son of the late Jannie Mae Baker and Eldean Williams, Sr. He was predeceased by his beloved siblings Rufus Williams, Sr., Lemon Johnnie Williams, Arabell "Peaches" Williams, Rosella "Pinkie" Causer, his cousin Ernestine Baker, and his dear uncles, James Williams, Rev. William F. Baker, and aunt, Christa Bell Baker. He was deeply devoted to his loving wife, Beulah, with whom he shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised three children: Eugene Alvin Williams, Linda Kimble, and Kim (Troy) Canady, who were the pride and joy of his life. Eugene's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Gabriele (Damon) Lawrence, Justin Williams, Renita (Doug) Canady, Troy Lamar (Jessica) Canady and his four great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his days. Eugene is survived by his siblings Eldean Williams, Jr., Dr. George (Susie) Williams, Rev. Thomas (Olivia) Williams, and Howard Williams, all of whom were a source of support and companionship throughout his life. He will be remembered by cousins, Rev. Alvin Baker and John Baker, along with Anita Taylor and Levi Johnson. He is also fondly remembered by his close friends, Troy Lee Canady and John Shannon, with whom he shared countless memories, along with a host of other family and friends. A proud graduate of Matthew W. Gilbert High School in 1957, Eugene embarked on a successful career as a District Manager with Greyhound Lines, where he worked for 30 years before retiring. He later enjoyed ten fulfilling years as a sales associate at Belk Department Store. Eugene's professional life was marked by his leadership ability, firmness, and quick wit, which earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Outside of his professional achievements, Eugene had a zest for life and a passion for various hobbies. He found joy in playing golf and tennis, shooting pool, walking on the beach, and immersing himself in a good book. Eugene was known for his fondness for children and dogs, and his home was always filled with laughter and warmth. A service to celebrate Eugene's life will be held on October 16, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the J. E. Fralin & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, located at 5065 Soutel Drive.
