In Loving Memory

Ethel Lee Parker

It is with profound sadness and heartfelt celebration that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Ethel Lee Parker, who left this world on April 9, 2026, at the age of 76. Born in the heart of Birmingham, Alabama, on March 8, 1950, Ethel spent her life as a beacon of love, resilience, and grace.
The daughter of John and Carrol, Ethel was nurtured in a family filled with laughter, warmth, and the values of hard work and kindness. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, James Parker, and her parents, John and Sarah Womack, as well as numerous brothers and sisters who have gone before her.
Ethel's life was a testament to the power of family and community. She was a nurturing mother to her children, Mickey, David, Jerry, and Susie, who carry forward her legacy of compassion and strength. Mickey held a special place in her heart, being not only her son but also her devoted caregiver in her later years.
Ethel cherished her siblings, W.R. Womack, Larry Womack, and Judy Sunderland, with whom she shared countless memories and a bond that knew no bounds. Her family tree bloomed with the love of nine grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, each a testimony to the enduring love and joy she spread throughout her life.
Her life was a celebration, marked by her unwavering faith and her dedication to those she loved. Ethel was a woman of quiet strength and endless grace, whose warmth could brighten the darkest of days. Her home was a sanctuary where friends and family gathered, always welcomed by her gentle spirit and kind heart.
A service to honor Ethel's remarkable life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 21, 2008, at the Legacy Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Marcus Clagg will officiate the ceremony, guiding us through a celebration of a life well-lived. Following the service, Ethel will be laid to rest in Hamilton County Memorial Park, a peaceful resting place befitting her serene spirit.
Ethel Lee Parker's life was a beautiful journey, a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and the indelible mark she left on all who had the privilege to know her. As we say goodbye, we hold her memory close, forever grateful for the time we shared and the love she gave so freely.
