It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Esther Dyson, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who peacefully departed from this world on April 9, 2026, at the age of 75. Esther was born on March 28, 1951, in the vibrant city of Saint Louis, Missouri, to her loving parents, Robert Dyson and Rose Gibson. Esther was a woman of remarkable strength, compassion, and grace—a shining light in the lives of those who knew her. Her journey began in the halls of Hazelwood Central High School, where her natural intelligence and understanding began to blossom. Her heart was set on caring for others, which led her to nursing school. For 22 years, she dedicated her life to her career as a nurse, providing care and comfort to countless patients with her gentle spirit and skilled hands. Later, her path took an unexpected turn as she embraced the role of a bus driver, where her kindness and way with words touched the lives of the children she safely transported each day. Esther's life was a testament to the love she had for her family and her unwavering faith. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—going to church, cooking meals filled with love, and cherishing every moment with her family. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and laughter, a place where traditions were cherished and new memories were constantly made. Esther's legacy is carried on by her devoted daughter, Kiya Marcus Mitchell, who was her pride and joy. Esther's nurturing spirit and wisdom live on in her three grandchildren, whom she adored, and her two great-grandchildren, who brought her endless delight and happiness. Esther was predeceased by her beloved brother, John, and her dear sister, Kimberly. Though her loss is deeply felt, her spirit remains ever-present in the hearts of those who loved her. A woman of faith, Esther was a cherished member of her church community at Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, where she will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, and her unwavering belief in the goodness of others. Her service will be held at 10:00 AM on April 26, 2026, at Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, located at 10052 Payne Field Rd, West Point, MS 39773. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of a life well-lived, honoring the love and memories Esther leaves behind. Esther's warmth and understanding touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, compassion, and resilience will continue to inspire those who carry her memory.
