Ernie (Big E) McLemore, a beloved son, husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026, after a long and courageous battle. Born on February 28, 1979, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Ernie was a beacon of strength and joy for all who had the privilege of knowing him. Ernie was the cherished son of Diane Elizabeth Steele and the late Stanley L. McLemore Sr. He was predeceased by his father and his grandparents, Floyd and Leota Steele, who surely welcomed him with open arms. He is survived by his loving wife, Shannon McLemore, who stood by his side through all of life's challenges and triumphs. The bond Ernie shared with his siblings, Stanley McLemore (Melissa McLemore) and Mckayla Chambliss (Bubba Chambliss), was one of deep love and camaraderie. As a father, he was a guiding light to his sons, Austin Denmark (Kaylie Denmark) and Dillion, instilling in them the values of kindness, resilience, and integrity. Ernie's legacy continues through his grandson, Kashtyn Denmark, who brought immense joy and pride to his life. He was a devoted uncle to Jasmine, Brandon, Damon/DJ, Eli, Sierra, Travis/TBubba, and McKenzie/LuLu, and a doting great-uncle to Elena M, Bobby L, and Heaven M. Ernie's life was a testament to his unwavering spirit and generous heart. He was known for his infectious laughter, his love for his family, and his ability to bring people together. His warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on everyone he met, and his memory will forever be cherished by those who knew him. In honoring Ernie's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held.
