In Loving Memory

Ernestine Morgan Walker
January 17, 1981 — July 20, 2026
It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Ernestine "Tina" Walker, a cherished member of our community. Ernestine departed this life on July 20, 2026, after a valiant battle with breast cancer. She was 45 years old. Born on January 17, 1981, in Monroe County, Georgia, Ernestine was the beloved daughter of Eddie Walker and April Banks.
A graduate of Jackson High School, Ernestine dedicated her life to nurturing young hearts and minds. Her passion for teaching shone brightly in her role as a Sunday School teacher at the First Baptist Church of Forsyth, where she shared her deep faith and love for the Lord with the children of the congregation. Her lessons, filled with warmth and wisdom, will continue to resonate in the hearts of those she taught.
Ernestine was known for her extraordinary kindness and her radiant smile, qualities that endeared her to all who knew her. Her welcoming spirit was most evident each Sunday as she hosted her family for a lovingly prepared dinner, creating a space filled with laughter, love, and togetherness.
She is survived by her devoted children, Bernard Walker, Samuel Ward, and Patricia Walker, and her treasured grandson, Bennet Walker. Her family also includes her nephews, Ja'Derek J. Ward and James Ward, and her niece, Honesty Sims, who all carry forward her legacy of love and compassion.
In addition to her immediate family, Ernestine is survived by her church family at First Baptist Church of Forsyth, where she was an active member and a beacon of faith. Her memory remains a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Ernestine was predeceased by her dear brother, John Sims of Thomaston, her beloved grandmother Tina Sims, and her grandfather Thomas Ward. Their spirits undoubtedly welcomed her into eternal peace.
The family of Ernestine Tina Walker invites all who knew her to join in a celebration of her life on July 28, 2026, at 11:30 AM at First Baptist Church of Forsyth, located at 95 W Morse St, Forsyth, GA 31029. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to a breast cancer charity of your choice, reflecting Ernestine’s courageous fight and her enduring hope for a cure.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who will attend the service, with a special thanks to the Pastor for guiding the community in this celebration of Ernestine’s life. Her spirit will forever remain a guiding light to those she loved and those who loved her.

May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
