Ernestine's life, though shortened by breast cancer, was a testament to resilience and compassion. Born to Eddie Walker and April Banks, Ernestine was a beacon of light to her family and community. Her childhood was imbued with warmth and love, especially under the nurturing guidance of her late brother John Sims of Thomaston, her beloved Grandma Tina Sims, and her Grandpa Thomas Ward. Their spirits remain intertwined with hers, watching over the family she cherished deeply. Ernestine's educational journey culminated in her graduation from Jackson High School, a milestone that marked the beginning of a life dedicated to service and teaching. Her career as a Sunday school teacher at the local First Baptist Church of Forsyth was not just a job but a calling. She delighted in sharing the teachings of the Lord with the young hearts of the community, ensuring that her legacy of faith and knowledge would continue to flourish through them. Beyond her professional life, Ernestine was known for her loving kindness and infectious smile, which could light up an entire room. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and hospitality, where family and friends would gather every Sunday for her renowned homemade dinners. These gatherings were a testament to her belief in the importance of family, fellowship, and faith. Ernestine leaves behind a loving family who will proudly carry her legacy forward. She is survived by her three cherished children: her sons, Bernard Walker and Samuel Ward, and her daughter, Patricia Walker. Her grandson, Bennet Walker, will carry the torch of her love into the next generation. She also leaves behind her dear nephew Ja'Derek J. Ward, her nephew James Ward, and her niece Honesty Sims, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
