Ernestine Jackson was born in Wrens Georgia to Gertie and Buford Jackson on February 14,1937. Her family moved to Macon Georgia when she was very young. There she attended George Washington Carver elementary and Ballard Hudson High School. Ernestine married Roy McCrary in 1955. She gave birth to three sons: Gary, Glenn and Barry. In 1961 Ernestine moved to New York City; there she studied to become a nurse assistant. She retired in 2000 from Westchester Square Hospital after 33 years of service. Ernestine dedicated her life and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1971. She was known for her good cooking, and she enjoyed sharing it with others. On many occasions Ernestine invited many to her home for some of her good meals. She also enjoyed traveling, especially taking cruises. But what Ernestine enjoyed most was spending time in the ministry helping others come to know that her God Jehovah will bring an end to death and the pain and sorrow it causes.
One of her favorite Scriptures was Revelation 21:4. Ernestine is survived by her two sons: Glenn McCrary and Barry Shields, 2 grand children and 5 great grand children.
Her (cousin) Renee, along with many other cousins. Sister-in-law............and many nieces and nephews. Ernestine will be missed by her family and all whose lives she touched.
