Born on December 24, 1953, in Dover, Ohio, Ernest was a cherished son of the late Homer Henry Harris and Maria Candida Leone. He now joins them, as well as his beloved sister Patricia Slimack and brother-in-law Danny Johnson, in eternal rest. Ernest's life was a testament to the values of hard work, passion, and adventure. A proud graduate of New Philadelphia High School's Class of 1971, he went on to dedicate over four decades to Greer Steel in Dover, Ohio. His commitment to his career reflected his steadfast nature and the pride he took in his work, earning him the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ernest lived life to the fullest. A true enthusiast of all things fast and thrilling, he found joy in the roar of motorcycles and the sleek elegance of hot rods. The great outdoors was his sanctuary, where he found peace and adventure alike, embodying the spirit of a life lived with zest and appreciation for every moment. At the heart of Ernest's world was his family, who he loved fiercely and supported unconditionally. He leaves behind a legacy of love in his daughter, Lindsey Harris, and son, Seth Harris, along with daughter-in-law Emily. His grandson, Calum Harris, was a particular source of pride and joy, bringing light into his grandfather's life with each smile and shared moment. Ernest also leaves his dear sister, Sherry Johnson, his cousin, Geraldo Leone, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who enriched his life and will continue to carry his memory forward. Ernest's journey was one marked by love, laughter, and the simple pleasures of life. His warmth and kindness touched all who knew him, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of many. Though we mourn his passing, we celebrate the incredible life he led and the enduring legacy he leaves behind. In accordance with Ernest's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor his life and bid him farewell. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered their support and condolences during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to a charity of one's choice, reflecting Ernest's lifelong commitment to generosity and helping others.
