A proud graduate of her local high school, Ericka continued her education, driven by a passion for knowledge and a desire to make a difference. Her career path was diverse, yet she excelled in every endeavor, known for her dedication, integrity, and unwavering kindness.
Ericka was predeceased by her great-grandparents, Jim and Uzilla Stowe, and her grandparents, BJ and Joretta Dotson, biological father Harold Wayne Newby whose cherished memories she kept close to her heart. She is survived by her loving husband, Andy Carrera, and her two children, Joshua and Emily Carrera, who were the lights of her life. Ericka's legacy of love and compassion lives on through her children, who embody her strength and kindness.
Her sister, Vanessa Martinez, and her niece and nephew, Yorling Carrera and Josue Bonilla, were dear to her, as were her aunts, Charlene Russel, Patricia Bowers, and Carol Peace her uncle Michael Rodriguez. Ericka's family was a tapestry woven with love, and she was the thread that held it all together.
Ericka's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her spirit will forever be remembered in the stories shared and the lives she touched. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness and the importance of family. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
