Eric Donovan Nieto Sr
March 19, 1970 — May 8, 2026
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Eric Donovan Nieto Sr., who left this world peacefully on May 8, 2026, at the age of 56. Born on March 19, 1970, in the sun-drenched paradise of Honolulu, Hawaii, Eric brought warmth, laughter, and light to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Eric was the cherished son of Cora Nieto, who survives him, and was admired and loved deeply by his family, friends, and colleagues. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, carried on by his devoted mother, Cora; his two sons, Eric Donovan Nieto Jr., who is married to Maria, and Zachary Nieto; his loving stepdaughter, Brittany Tokunaga, and her wife, Shanelle; his dear sisters, Caroline Arnold, married to Chuck, and Carrie Pimentel, married to Bryan; and his four treasured grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
Eric's career spanned over two decades as a respected member of Mason Union 1 and as a skilled worker with several flooring companies in Hawaii. His craftsmanship and dedication to his work were rivaled only by the joy and humor he brought to each worksite. Known for his quick wit and infectious laughter, Eric's warm smile and playful jokes were a testament to his welcoming nature and his uncanny ability to make everyone around him feel like family.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Eric was a man of simple joys and deep connections. He cherished the times spent with his family, whether it was sharing stories, laughter, or simply enjoying each other's company. His grandchildren will forever remember the twinkle in his eye and the warmth of his embrace.
Eric's life will be celebrated on June 27, 2026, at St. Philomena Church, located at 3300 Ala Laulani St, Honolulu, HI 96818. The service will begin at 9:15 AM, and all those who knew and loved Eric are welcome to join us in honoring his memory and the remarkable life he lived.
In this time of sorrow, we find solace in the memories we shared and the love that Eric so generously gave. While he may no longer walk beside us, his spirit will forever guide us, reminding us to find joy in the simple moments and to always laugh a little louder.
Though Eric's journey on this earth has come to an end, his legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the beauty and tranquility of his beloved Hawaii.
