Eraclio (Rock) Garcia

Eraclio Garcia, affectionately known to many as "Rock" and to his beloved siblings as "Laco," passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on February 17, 1953, in McAllen, Texas, Rock was the cherished son of the late Jose and Marcolfa Garcia. He was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, whose warmth and humor left an indelible mark on everyone he met. Rock spent his formative years in McAllen, where he graduated from McAllen High School in 1972. During his school years, he was known for his infectious laughter and his prowess on the football field—a sport he continued to love throughout his life. His dedication and spirit made him a beloved member of the community, both on and off the field. Preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Marcy Garcia, and his dear brother, Roberto Julio (Bobby) Garcia, Rock is survived by his loving siblings: brothers Jose Garcia Jr., Paul Fred Garcia, and Efrain Garcia, as well as his sisters Diana (Garcia) Shaw, Hermila (Millie) Zarate, and Gloria Marie Medina. He also leaves behind a multitude of nieces and nephews, who fondly remember him as the fun-loving uncle always ready for a game of catch or a good-natured joke to brighten their day. Throughout his life, Rock embraced his role as a family man, cherishing the bonds he shared with each of his siblings. Whether it was a family gathering or a simple Sunday barbecue, Rock's presence was a source of joy and laughter, his stories and humor bringing everyone closer together. Rock's love for life was evident in everything he did. His hobbies and interests were as varied as they were vibrant, reflecting a man who truly enjoyed every moment. He had an unwavering passion for sports, especially football, and he took great pleasure in sharing that enthusiasm with those around him. His laughter, kindness, and generosity will be dearly missed by all who knew him. A service to celebrate Rock's life will be held on July 23, 2026 ???. In honor of his love for community and family, the Garcia family invites friends and loved ones to join in remembering a man well-loved. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Rock's memory to a charity of ????.
