In Loving Memory

Enrique Alicea
September 15, 1964 — August 17, 2026
Enrique "Rick" Alicea, lovingly known as Ricky, peacefully departed this world on August 17, 2026, at his home, surrounded by the warmth and love of his children and grandchildren. Born on September 15, 1964, in the vibrant city of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Rick was the cherished son of Aida Alicea and Enrique Alicea Sr.
At the tender age of five, Rick embarked on a new journey with his family, migrating to America and settling in Meriden, Connecticut. It was here that Rick would begin to lay the foundations of a life filled with love, dedication, and an unyielding spirit. He later moved to Hartford, Connecticut, where he resided and built a life with his family. Rick found his calling as an electrician at Trinity College, a career he passionately pursued until illness compelled him to step back.
Rick was a beacon of strength and kindness, qualities that shone brightly in his roles as a father and grandfather. He leaves behind a tapestry of cherished memories with his father, Enrique Sr., and his beloved fiancée, Jennifer. Rick was the proud father of four children: Lillie, married to Dinesh; Melinda; Jazmine, engaged to Marc; and his only son, Jeremy. His presence will forever be felt by his three devoted sisters, Lucy, Latisha, and Marlene. Rick's legacy extends to his five cherished grandsons—Kenny, Benny, Grayson, Dominic, and Jayson—whom he affectionately referred to as his "bodyguards."
Rick's life was a testament to the power of love and family. He was adored not only by his immediate family but also by a wide circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends who will continue to celebrate his life and the indelible mark he left on their hearts.
A celebration of Rick's life will be held on August 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the D'Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, located at 30 Carter Street, East Hartford, Connecticut. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the life of a man who was dedicated to his family and community.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Rick's memory may consider making a donation to a charity of their choice in his name.
Rick Alicea's journey was one of love, resilience, and steadfast dedication to those he cherished. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift those who had the privilege of knowing him.
