Born on October 2, 1951, in Gainesville, Georgia, to Jacqueline Delores Hudson and Roy Hudson, Emmitt was a man whose presence was felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruby Lee Hudson, and his dear sisters, Kim and Elizabeth Hudson, Emmitt's life was a testament to the power of family and friendship.
Emmitt was a man who believed in making an entrance, always dressed to the nines, exuding confidence and charm. His love for reading and history was unparalleled, and he often shared his knowledge with those around him, weaving stories that captivated and enlightened. Emmitt's heart was as vast as his intellect, a giver who never hesitated to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement to those in need.
Known for his charismatic nature, Emmitt had a special affinity for people, particularly women, who were often drawn to his famous smile and warm demeanor. He leaves behind a family who adored him: his children, Evette, Tyrone, Jocilyn, and Jaclyn; his stepchildren, Franshawn and Shawn; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. His siblings, Vickie, Demetra, Tony, Kabar, James, Jackie, Dominic, Kalua, Sabu, Johnny, and Sharon; his sister/cousin, Belinda; and special friends, including the Griffin family, Diane, Donna, Joyce, the Marshall sisters, and countless nieces, nephews, and dear friends will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
As we bid farewell to Emmitt, we remember his words, "My alma mater was books, a good library… I could spend the rest of my life reading, just satisfying my curiosity," a quote from the Honorable Malcolm X that perfectly encapsulates Emmitt's lifelong passion for learning and discovery.
May Emmitt Charles Hudson rest in peace, knowing his life was a beacon of light and love that touched all who crossed his path.
