Born on April 2, 1947, in the quaint town of Eastville, Virginia, Emma was a beacon of love and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Emma was the cherished daughter of the late Burley and Josephine Morris, who instilled in her the values of compassion and generosity that she carried throughout her life. She was a nurturing spirit, known for her loving and caring touch that extended beyond her family to embrace her entire community. Emma was always willing to lend a helping hand, offering support and solace to those in need, and her unwavering dedication to others was a testament to her character.
Emma was predeceased by her beloved daughters, Myra Jenkins, Terrie Christian, and Carolyn Morris, as well as her treasured grandchildren, Jannie Bell, Jerron Jenkins, and James Jenkins. Her great-grandchildren, Jawaun Bell, Taylor Jenkins, Jerron Jenkins Jr., and Jayden Jenkins, who brought immense joy to her life, will carry forward her legacy of kindness and love.
Although she endured the profound heartache of saying goodbye to her children and grandchildren, Emma's spirit remained resilient and hopeful. Her home was a haven of warmth and acceptance, a place where stories were shared, laughter resonated, and love was abundant. She nurtured not just her own family but also extended her embrace to friends and neighbors, embodying a true community matriarch.
Emma's life will be celebrated on May 2, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the Bethel Methodist Episcopal AME, located at 16207 Courthouse Road, Eastville, Virginia, 23347. We invite all whose lives were touched by Emma to join us in honoring her memory and celebrating the love she so generously shared.
