April 2, 1940 — April 7, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Emma Kay Gibson, fondly known as "Kay," who peacefully departed this world on April 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Kay was born on April 2, 1940, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Hobart and Gladys White. She lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication, leaving an indelible mark on all those fortunate enough to know her. Kay was the devoted wife of the late Jerry Gibson, with whom she shared 59 beautiful years of marriage. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, a cherished legacy that continues to inspire their family. Together, they nurtured a loving family, and Kay is survived by her devoted children: Jerry Gibson Jr. and Julie Holbrook (Jeff). She was the proud grandmother to Jared Garrison (Valerie), Samantha Smith (Aaron), Elizabeth Chasteen (Kyle), Megan Langdon (James), Paige Cullison, Kristen Cassida, and Caitlyn Gibson. Her legacy of love extends further to her 11 cherished great-grandchildren, who were her greatest joy. Kay was a proud graduate of Fontanet High School, where she cultivated a love for learning and friendship. Her passion for creating was evident in her love for sewing. She took immense pleasure in crafting quilts and clothes for her family, each stitch woven with love and care. Her creations were not just fabric and thread, but tangible expressions of her affection, warmth, and dedication to family. To know Kay was to know kindness and warmth. She had a gentle spirit and a heart full of generosity. Her family was the center of her world, and she was very much loved by all who knew her. Her home was a haven of comfort and love, always open to friends and family alike. A celebration of Kay's remarkable life will be held on May 30, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Soul Harvest Church, located at 14 Crosswinds Dr, Cloverdale, IN 46122. The service will be a time to honor her life, share cherished memories, and find solace in the love she left behind. As we say goodbye, we remember Kay as a beacon of love and a guiding light for her family. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she loved dearly. She will be profoundly missed but forever remembered with love and gratitude.
