It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Emma J. Hoskins-Rodgers on October 25, 2026. Born on December 3, 1952, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, Emma was a beacon of warmth and generosity whose presence touched all who knew her.
Emma was the beloved daughter of Menervia Hoskins and was welcomed into heaven by her husband, Jessie Rodgers, her mother, and her dear sisters Viola Williams, Willie Mae Gray-Evans, and Rozell Hoskins. A devoted mother, Emma leaves behind a legacy of love and strength in her children: Michael Hoskins, Jonathen Hoskins of Winterville, MS, Dennis (Andrea) Hoskins of Pearl, MS, Ladariurs Hoskins of Ohio, Vanessa (Cory) Adams of Winterville, Taquitta Hoskins of Greenville, MS, and Sha. Her legacy continues through her seven cherished grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.
A graduate of O'Bannon, Emma was dedicated to her community and faith. She served as an usher at Macedonia MB Church, where her welcoming spirit and kindness were felt by all, until her health no longer allowed. Emma's passion for life was evident in her love for gardening, a hobby that reflected her nurturing nature. She generously shared the fruits of her labor, welcoming all who wished to partake in her garden's bounty.
Emma's laughter was infectious, especially when she was surrounded by her siblings. Her sense of humor and the joy she found in these moments are fondly remembered and will be dearly missed.
A celebration of Emma's life will be held on November 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Macedonia MB Church, located at 283 Blaylock Road, Greenville, MS 38703. The family invites all who knew and loved Emma to join them in honoring her memory.
